By downloading or using Tollgate, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Tollgate is a screen-time tool. It shields apps you choose when your allowance runs out and unlocks them when you answer a question correctly. It is a self-control aid, not a security product: you configure it, and you can remove or reconfigure it at any time. We make no promise that it will reduce your screen time, and it is not medical, psychological, or educational advice.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Tollgate on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. Don't copy, modify, resell, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app or our servers, and don't use the service in a way that breaks the law.
The free tier is free forever. Paid subscriptions are billed by Apple through your Apple ID, renew automatically until cancelled, and can be managed or cancelled anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't refund the current period. Refund requests go through Apple. Prices may change, and Apple will notify you before a change affects your renewal.
Quiz questions are written and reviewed by us, sometimes with the help of AI tools. We work hard to keep them accurate, but we don't guarantee that every question or answer is correct. If a question is wrong, flag it in the app. All questions, branding, and app content belong to us or our licensors; the license above doesn't transfer any ownership to you.
Tollgate has no accounts, and your stats live only on your device. If you delete the app or lose your phone, that data is gone and we cannot restore it. Keeping your device and its Screen Time passcode secure is up to you.
Tollgate is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Shields depend on Apple's Screen Time framework, which we don't control; iOS updates, restarts, or system behavior may occasionally prevent a shield from firing. We are not liable for what you do or don't do while an app is shielded or unshielded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Tollgate, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so parts of this may not apply to you; nothing here removes rights that consumer law gives you.
You can stop using Tollgate anytime by deleting the app. We may suspend or end access to our servers if you abuse the service or break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.
If these terms change materially, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use Tollgate after a change means you accept the new terms.
