Answering the toll

The toll is one multiple choice question on your topic. Four answers, one right. No timer, no pressure, and the quiz screen is deliberately calm. The banter waits until you have won.

When you get it right

The screen goes full gold: TOLL PAID, plus the minutes you just earned. You will also see your running tally for the day, something like “4 in a row today · 40 min converted,” and often a one line explanation of the answer, because the entire point is that some of this sticks.

From there, two buttons:

• Back to scrolling. The shield is already up. Your next block is live.
• Or quit while you’re ahead. Close the phone with the toll paid and the smug feeling included at no extra charge.

One correct answer buys one fresh block of your allowance. Tolls do not stack, so there is no farming questions at breakfast to scroll free all evening. Each gate is its own toll.

When you get it wrong

Nothing dramatic. “Not quite. Here’s another.” A different question appears and you try again, as many times as you need. The full no lockout policy is here.

Edge cases, handled

• You get distracted mid question. Fine. The question waits. Answer it an hour later and it still counts.
• The question fails to load. Our fault, not yours, so the block is free. Open Tollgate on a connection later and it restocks.
• Something looks wrong with the question itself. There is a flag link right on the result screen. Use it liberally.
