Refunds

Updated 28 Jul 2026

All Tollgate purchases are processed by Apple, and Apple keeps refunds entirely in its own hands. We cannot issue one, not because we are hiding behind policy, but because developers genuinely have no refund button. Apple takes the payment, Apple returns it.

How to request one

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase.
  2. Find the Tollgate charge, choose Request a refund, pick the reason that fits, and submit.
  3. Apple typically answers within a day or two. Approved refunds land back on the original payment method, on Apple’s timeline.

You can also start the same flow from your purchase history in Settings → your name → Media & Purchases.

What to expect

Apple decides case by case. Recent charges with a clear reason, an accidental renewal, a purchase that never unlocked, are commonly approved. Requests months after a charge are a harder sell. We have no visibility into Apple’s decision and no way to influence it in either direction.

Two things worth doing alongside

And if a refund goes through, no hard feelings. The free tier remains yours forever, one guarded app and all.
